Off To Dingwall

After Rangers’ trip to Dundee was postponed for the second time, the Ibrox outfit still have a game in hand to use before the Premiership split.

Rain Stopped Play

After the sun shone on Glasgow last Sunday, there was a deluge in Dundee just three days later and with the Dens Park pitch once again becoming sodden due to heavy rain, it meant Rangers were left kicking their heels in midweek.

A situation that the Ibrox outfit described as one worthy of negligence and unprofessionalism and with the opportunity to go top of the Scottish Premiership delayed for at least another week, it means Rangers’ focus now switches to Sunday’s trip to Ross County.

A trip that will be the first outing since that sensational 3-3 draw with Celtic almost a week ago and although that game was not necessarily a must-win game for Philippe Clements’ men, it was certainly a do not lose.

After clawing back both 2-0 and 3-2 deficits that the Hoops had put in place, Rangers would arguably come away from the latest edition of the Old Firm with slightly more to celebrate and especially with that game in hand still in their back pocket.

That may be in their back pocket but plans to get the better of Ross County this Sunday will be situated in their front and with the Dingwall-based outfit currently situated second bottom, the team that is second top should consider this outcome a mere formality.

While the relegation battle to avoid dropping out of the Scottish Premiership also looks like a mere formality and with Livingston a further nine points behind Ross County with six league games to go, it would need the greatest of escapes for Davie Martindale’s side to survive.

With that being said, Ross County are not safe yet and with them currently occupying the promotion/relegation playoff berth, their task between now and the final day of the campaign is to hunt down St. Johnstone in 10th.

Going into this weekend’s round of fixtures, St. Johnstone find themselves four points clear and the margin was extended from one after they got the better of Hibernian last week and Don Cowie’s Ross County lost to this season’s surprise act Kilmarnock.

But now Rangers need to make sure there are no surprises at the Global Energy Stadium and with Celtic playing host to St. Mirren the day before, there is every chance that the defending champions could power further clear by the end of Saturday’s Scottish league schedule.

But now it is time for the first of my two tips and to find some value, I have opted for a bet builder. Level after 10 mins, but a Rangers win. Add both teams not to score and over two goals and this is priced at 4/1.

In addition to this, I am going to back Rangers’ captain fantastic to put his side ahead and with that, it will be the only goal of the opening 45 minutes. A goal from James Tavernier and it being 1-0 to the visitors at the interval is found at odds of 10/1.
