Lyon reminded fans of their strength in depth, their potential to be a force of nature, by dominating the game despite missing a number of key players. Nabil Fekir and Mariano Diaz were among their absentees but Memphis led the line well as Lyon peppered the away side with 21 shots. It’s not the best omen for Metz ahead of this weekend’s tie.
Metz, anchored to the bottom of the table, are in terrible form. Their last meeting with Lyon saw them on the wrong end of a 2-0 scoreline. We can only see Lyon adding to their woes with another free-flowing attacking performance to keep the pressure on third-placed Marseille.
