2025 Premier League Darts Preview
We take a closer look at the eight players taking part in the 2025 Premier League Darts.
Luke Littler – 11/8 to win the 2025 Darts Premier League
Last year: 1st
World champion Luke Littler is a strong 11/8 to defend the Premier League title he picked up last May, underlining the weight that is thrown behind the 18-year-old whenever he heads to the oche.
The “Nuke” has been averaging some ridiculous figures across the last 12 months on the tour and it would be a major shock if he didn’t navigate a way to the top four this campaign and return to London’s O2 Arena for the playoffs.
As good as he has been playing he has got off to a little bit of a sticky start on tour since winning the big one – exits at the Bahrain Darts Masters, Dutch Darts Masters and World Masters can surely just be chalked up to a mini blip.
On Littler’s day, no one can really match him in scoring or finishing.
Luke Humphries – 11/4 to win the 2025 Darts Premier League
Last year: Runner-up
Last year’s runner-up and world number one Luke Humphries will be as eager as anyone to add this trophy to is cabinet.
He finished just four points shy of Littler in the league phase last season in second spot, winning an impressive 21 of 33 matches played over the four months of action, but still couldn’t quite get over the line in the final.
An 11-7 loss sealed his fate despite a 102 average, and 11/4 says he can go one better in 2025 and get another darting monkey off his back.
Michael van Gerwen – 5/1 to win the 2025 Darts Premier League
Last year: 3rd
Like cheese and wine, Michael van Gerwen pairs beautifully with the Premier League.
He has won it seven times, reached another two finals, and has only failed to make the playoffs once in 12 consecutive appearances dating back to 2013.
The “Green Machine” may not be firing on all cylinders at this stage in his career, but you can pretty much guarantee that over four months of action the Dutchman will find enough purple patches to put him in contention once again.
Reaching the World Championship final once again earlier this year will have done wonders for his confidence after a couple of dry spells over the past few years.
Gerwyn Price – 14/1 to win the 2025 Darts Premier League
Last year: 7th
Love him or loathe him – Gerwyn Price sells tickets and is always box office viewing.
The Welshman may well be considered a surprise entry this season considering his failure to land a major singles title since 2022, but you can be sure the “Iceman” will be ready to fight for his place.
He has only made the playoffs once in six years in the Premier League – losing the 2023 final to Michael van Gerwen – so 14/1 is understandably big if Price is going to tear up the form book in 2025.
Stephen Bunting – 14/1 to win the 2025 Darts Premier League
Last year: N/A
The “Bullet” has to be considered a dark horse following his blistering start to 2025.
Much like his beloved Liverpool Football Club, Bunting is topping the charts early doors this season winning in Bahrain and finishing runner-up in Den Bosch, and he’s back in the Premier League for the first time since 2015.
Bunting is scoring well, finishing well and doing most other things well on the oche at the moment, but 14/1 probably reflects the challenge of doing it week-in-week-out over 17 weeks in the Premier League – something he’ll have to get used to.
Chris Dobey – 20/1 to win the 2025 Darts Premier League
Last year: N/A
Chris Dobey’s run to the semi-final of the World Championship is probably what sealed him the invite to the Premier League, and the Geordie will be looking to build on the 7th place he finished back in the 2023 event.
“Hollywood” sits tenth in the Order of Merit and after a solid 2024 is getting used to winning tournaments again.
He knows the format well having played two seasons ago and he could well find himself being a bogey fixture for some of the favourites each week.
Rob Cross – 25/1 to win the 2025 Darts Premier League
Last year: 6th
Rob Cross finished runner-up in 2019, but since then has really struggled with the Premier League format.
“Voltage” has finished 9th, 9th and 6th since, and has earned another invite due to a string of quarter-final runs in TV events in 2024, and a title at the Baltic Sea Darts Open.
Cross’ form often dips up and down throughout a season, so it might be a bit much of an ask to see him pressure the playoff spots with any ease.
Nathan Aspinall – 33/1 to win the 2025 Darts Premier League
Last year: 5th
Aspinall is a fantastic Premier League player – it’s always seemed like the short format suits the “Asp’s” game.
But injuries have blighted the form of the 33-year-old recently, and expecting too much from him during this gruelling schedule probably isn’t advised.
He has narrowly missed out on the playoffs the last two seasons finishing 5th, but has a runners-up finish to his name from 2020 and always brings that competitive edge.
