Bournemouth vs Brighton Premier League Betting Stats
Bournemouth are set to welcome Brighton to the Vitality for a 2 pm BST Premier League meeting on Sunday, April 28.
The two sides have endured very similar 2023/24 campaigns so far and cannot really be separated in the betting either. Bournemouth are 5/4 to secure a win on Sunday afternoon, while Brighton can be backed at 19/10 to pick up three points.
Ahead of the game, both sides are eyeing up a top-half finish, with an outside chance of nabbing a European place still remaining for the pair as well.
Bournemouth vs Brighton
After narrowly avoiding the drop in 2022/23, Bournemouth have improved a great deal this term, with their Premier League status already secured and a top-half finish on the cards. The Cherries have won two and drawn one of their last five league outings, including a 1-0 win over fellow top-half rivals, Wolves last time out.
That win left Bournemouth 10th in the league and five points off a Europa Conference League place. While it may be too late for the South Coast outfit to mount a European push, a win over Brighton this weekend would go along way toward them finishing in the top half of the Premier League.
Premier League Top Half Finish: Current Standings
- 9th - Chelsea Pld 32 - Pts 47
- 10th - Bournemouth Pld 34 - Pts 45
- 11th - Brighton Pld 33 - Pts 44
- 12th - Wolves Pld 34 - Pts 43
- 13th - Fulham Pld 34 - Pts 42
As shown above, Brighton are in a similar position to Bournemouth when it comes to finishing in the top half this term.
However, the Seagulls are in much worse form than their opponents this weekend. They have failed to win their last five and were thumped 4-0 by Manchester City earlier this week. But the potential of a win over Bournemouth on Sunday, and a game in hand on the sides around them, means Brighton should not be ruled out of the top-half race just yet.
Bournemouth vs Brighton betting stats
Here are some key Bournemouth and Brighton stats to keep in mind as you prepare to make your selections ahead of the game:
- Brighton have won just six of their last 27 Premier League games (D11 L10) – since the start of this spell in September - only Burnley (5), Nottingham Forest (5), and Sheffield United (3) have won fewer.
- Brighton have lost back-to-back Premier League home games, as many as their previous 22 at the Amex Stadium beforehand (W12 D8 L2). The Seagulls have lost successive league home games while also failing to score each time for the first time since a run of four from February to March 2022.
- Both teams have scored in four of Bournemouth’s last five Premier League home matches.
- Bournemouth have won three of their last four Premier League home games by a one-goal margin and have opened the scoring in their last three Premier League home games.
Bournemouth vs Brighton Top Tip
- Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo scored his ninth goal in the Premier League, on his 40th appearance in the competition in their last outing. Seven of his nine goals have either put the Cherries ahead (five) or levelled their match (two).
