Doncaster v Crystal Palace Predictions and Free Bet Tips
Here are our Doncaster v Crystal Palace predictions, odds and free bet tips from our range of football betting sites ahead of the game.
Doncaster v Crystal Palace Match Preview
Doncaster will be targeting a big scalp when they entertain Crystal Palace in the FA Cup Fourth Round on Monday evening.
Palace, of course, will be buoyed by their 2-0 victory away to Manchester United in the Premier League last weekend as a Jean-Philippe Mateta double added more fuel to the flames for Ruben Amorim and co.
Riding high in League Two (second) and you will find Doncaster albeit their four-match winning streak came to an abrupt halt last weekend as they were on the wrong side of a 5-2 scoreline against Chesterfield.
Luke Molyneux, who was on target against Chesterfield, will need to be watched closely by Palace as he has netted 13 times in all competitions for Doncaster, posing a significant threat.
The beauty of the FA Cup is the prospect of giant killings, but will we witness one at the Eco-Power Stadium? I’ve dug around the betting markets and I’ve handpicked a couple of tips to encompass my Doncaster v Crystal Palace predictions.
Doncaster’s FA Cup fairytale to come to an end
A decent Cup run can be invaluable for any side in the lower rungs of the English football pyramid with the TV money accrued.
Interestingly, this will be the first meeting between Doncaster and Palace since the 2018/19 FA Cup Fifth Round when the Eagles triumphed 2-0 at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Palace have a good record in Yorkshire, winning four of their last five FA Cup games in that region of the country, with the only exception being a 1-0 reverse at Leeds in January 1997.
In their third round tie, Palace were distinctly unimpressive against Stockport with an early Eberechi Eze strike separating the two sides.
I do love a good underdog story, but I don’t think we will see a giant killing here. For the first of my picks, I’m going with Palace to win & BTTS that is available at 17/10 with Paddy Power.
Palace to work overtime to get the job done
It’s fair to assert that Palace have a strong record against sides from the fourth tier of English football or lower.
Indeed, they have won their last 11 FA Cup games against such outfits, with their last loss being a 2-1 defeat against Hartlepool in 1978.
Of course, much will depend on the side that Oliver Glasner fields, but as we saw with Tottenham against Tamworth, it’s not always easy to get the job done within 90 minutes.
To round off my predictions, I’m going with Palace to require extra time to advance to the fifth round, and Betano has weighed in with enticing odds of 7/1 for that outcome.
