The future is bright if you are following the green and white of Northern Ireland and although the consensus regarding managerial returns is not usually positive, Michael O’Neill’s second stint at Windsor Park is largely defying convention.

A trip that sees the team at the top of League C3 travel to the team at the bottom and although victory would secure promotion in the final group game of this Nations League cycle, it is not necessarily win or bust for the green and white army.
Instead, all Monday’s visitors need to do is match or better what Bulgaria do. A draw for both the top two would keep the points gap at two, defeat for Ilian Iliev’s to Belarus would start Northern Ireland’s promotion party regardless of their own result.
Bulgaria may have dealt Michael O’Neill’s men their only defeat of the cycle but since that September defeat, they have never looked back and the exclamation mark of their uptick of form was their 5-0 win in October’s reverse fixture.
But now it is time for the first of my two tips and because Northern Ireland have to win to avoid needing favours elsewhere, that and their impressive recent form suggests the away win and under 2.5 goals at 13/5.
In addition to this, I think this should be a largely sedate affair in terms of discipline and with the man in the middle keeping his cards close to his chest, backing exactly two cards at 8/1 also seems a good way to start the week.
