Pep Guardiola offers triple Manchester City injury update

Manchester City hosted Arsenal in a Premier League meeting on Sunday afternoon, with the Sky Blues looking to close the gap on league leaders, Liverpool.

However, Arsenal were able to hold Manchester City to a 0-0 draw, leaving the Manchester outfit three points off top spot with a five-worse goal difference than the Reds. City return to action on Wednesday at home to Aston Villa and are 2/7 to pick up the win with BetVictor.

As well as failing to secure three points vs Arsenal, Manchester City were also dealt a fresh injury blow.

Nathan Ake was forced off after 27 minutes during Sunday’s title clash in Manchester, being replaced by Rico Lewis.

While Ake was able to walk off the pitch by himself vs the Gunners, Pep Guardiola confirmed post-match that the initial prognosis of his injury was not good.

Guardiola also provided updates on John Stones and Kyle Walker, the former of which made the bench vs Arsenal but was not fully fit:

“It is what it is,” Pep said on Ake’s injury. “[He] played two games this week [including] with the national team in Holland.

“John will be better soon, I think. Kyle will be longer, now Nathan will be longer.

“Rico played exceptionally well and we have other guys. We will do it with the guys that we have.”
