It’s nip and tuck at the top of the Bundesliga table, and there will be plenty more twists and turns before the season is out.

You could throw a blanket over league leaders Bayern Munich down to Freiburg in fifth, with just five points separating them.
With that in mind, I have packed my passport and pulled out a tasty treble that is paying out at 26/1 with bet365.

Union Berlin v Cologne – HOME WIN & BTTS
It is easy to forget that this is just Union Berlin’s fourth season in Germany’s top flight, and they continue to surpass expectations.
They were given a bit of a reality check last weekend when they were on the wrong end of a 3-0 scoreline away to Bayern Munich, and it marked their only defeat in 2023 to date.
Cologne, meanwhile, are going through a bit of a slump, and they endured back-to-back defeats against Stuttgart and Wolfsburg, firing blanks in both games.
While the last two meetings between these clubs have hardly produced a flurry of goals, with Union Berlin nicking both encounters, there have been other clashes to suggest this game could be a bit more lively.
For my first pick, I have plumped for a home win, and both teams to score, which is available at 15/4.
Borussia Monchengladbach v Freiburg – AWAY WIN
Freiburg have continued to upset the apple cart. Having finished sixth last term, they are well on their way to surpassing that achievement.
If anything, they are still in the title picture, and they managed to pick themselves up from their 5-1 drubbing at the hands of Borussia Dortmund by winning their next three on the spin before being held at home to Bayer Leverkusen.
Christian Streich has been the mastermind behind Freiburg’s excellent season, and they take on a Monchengladbach who are ensconced in mid-table.
Freiburg will have the bit between their teeth, and they are available at 9/5 to pick up all three points.
VfB Stuttgart v Bayern Munich – AWAY TEAM AHEAD AT HT/FT
A 3-2 defeat away to Monchengladbach last month threatened to derail Bayern, but the reigning champions bounced back in style with a convincing 3-0 win over Union Berlin.
With Sadio Mane impressing on his return to action after three months on the sidelines with injury, Bayern will have their full array of attacking power at their disposal.
Stuttgart may have frustrated Bayern at the Allianz Arena in September when they came from behind twice to rescue a point in a 2-2 draw, it should be a different story this time.
It may well feel like a training session of attack v defence at times, but Stuttgart will struggle to keep Bayern at bay.
To round things off, I have sided with Bayern to be ahead at half-time and full-time, and they are trading at a short 21/20 to do so.
