Australian PGA Championship 3-Ball Betting Tips, Odds & Predictions

This week's 3-ball betting tips come from the Australian PGA Championship as the 2025 season begins.
While the likes of Rory McIlroy and Rasmus Hojgaard will be keeping their golf clubs locked away until the New Year, the BMW Australian PGA Championship comes into sharp focus this week.
There will be plenty of home interest with Min Woo Lee and Cameron Smith among those teeing it up at the Royal Queensland Golf Club.
Expect some low scores this week, and the full preview is worth a read before the serious business begins.
But if like me, you want the lowdown on the groupings for Round 1, and who could prevail, then check out my 3-ball betting tips below, plus the top golf betting offers from the best golf betting sites.

Australian PGA Championship Preview
A juicy pan-Australian group to feast on, this trio is likely to get plenty of backing from the bookmakers.
Smith may be trying to tear things up on LIV, but he has plenty of pedigree in this tournament, and that’s underlined the fact he’s a three-time champion.
Lee, who won this event last year, will be the hunted, but he needs to ensure his putter is red hot this week if he is to mount a successful defence.
Jason Day, on the other hand, hasn’t played much golf of late, well since the FedEx Cup to be more exact, so he could be playing catch-up early on.
To open my 3-ball betting tips, I backed Smith in the outright market, so I fancy him to prevail in this group.
Lucas Herbert to beat Cam Davis & Victor Perez
A three-time winner on the DP World Tour, Lucas Herbert doesn’t receive as much fanfare as his fellow countrymen.
Of the most recent stats I have for Herbert to hand is that he ranked third for average putts per round and 24th for sand saves, but that was in 2022.
Victor Perez hasn’t threatened of late, with a T36 at the Andalucia Masters his best finish, but he came very close to securing an Olympic medal before coming home in fourth.
Cam Davis hasn’t been flourishing of late, missing two cuts from his past five appearances on the PGA Tour, so he doesn’t represent much value.
I backed Herbert to shoot the lowest round on Thursday, so I’m not going to go against that prediction now.
Yannik Paul to beat Brett Coletta & Geoff Ogilvy
Geoff Ogilvy stands out in this group, but that is because he is the oldest, having turned pro in 1998.
He’s only played once on the PGA Tour this season, and he missed the cut at the Puerto Rico Open with a 75 in the second round which doesn’t augur well.
Brett Coletta, meanwhile, is more of an unknown quantity, while Yannik Paul has been searching for his best form over the past six weeks, but he had some decent results on the DP World Tour earlier this season.
For that reason, I’m wrapping things up with Paul to see off Coletta and Ogilvy in the first round.
