Burnley v Leeds Match Preview
At the start of the season if you'd have picked out a handful of games that would have a major say in who finishes in the top two, Leeds away at Burnley would undoubtedly be one of them.
It's probably no surprise that at this stage of the campaign, both sides sit in the top three with neither of them nor Sheffield United - not to mention Sunderland - yet taking decisive steps towards automatic promotion.
With three points separating the top three after 28 games, this match is set up so well for a huge game on Monday night and there's a few really key sideplots going into it.
Do Leeds, generally regarded as having the strongest all-round squad at this level, have it in them to grind out tough results away from home?
Do Burnley have the firepower to take down a side such as Leeds?
The 5-0 win for the Clarets on Wednesday night suggests they may be settle into their groove, but their form at Turf Moor is pretty bleak to be honest - they have scored 15 goals in 13 matches and conceded just four.
That equates to six wins and seven draws which is probably a little bit down on what they'd want - if their home form was even a little better they would be coasting the league - but in terms of entertainment, it's been on short supply at Turf Moor.
But while Leeds have been much stronger at home, they haven't been quite so dominant on the road with six draws and two defeats alongside five wins while the recent dropped points at Hull pointed to familiar vulnerabilities.
Clinton Morrison on Burnley v Leeds
But it makes for a massive game in the context of the season, and I had a chat with EFL pundit Clinton Morrison about what to expect.
They have been shy of goals Burnley, but we know they're probably the best team defensively in the Championship, but if not, they're scoring enough goals.
So if they get that right they’d be a force to be reckoned with. So this game that everyone's been looking forward to, I think this is the big one.
These are the two long outstanding teams, probably along with Sheffield United at the moment that are flying.
So it's a game you're looking forward to and you're thinking, wow, Monday Night Football - I won't be moving off the sofa!
I think it will be a top game. I think it'll be end-to-end. I did the Leeds game against Sheffield Wednesday on the weekend and Leeds were were far too good.
You can bring on Ramazani and Gnonto which isn’t too shabby! Two players who probably think they should be starting, but then you've got Dan James and Solomon that are in fantastic form at the moment, and Joseph off the bench. They've just got some top players and I just think they're outstanding.
I thought Ampadu on the weekend against Sheffield Wednesday was just a Rolls Royce. You play him anywhere you want and he can look good.
