Championship Acca of the Week
We've got another relatively long shot on Wednesday with seven matches to choose from, but there are a few games that are pretty close to call so there could be plenty of value around. I'm sticking with three of the top four to do the business though, so let's look a little closer at why.
Sheffield United v Middlesbrough - Sheffield United to win and BTTS
This is probably the game of the night, even despite Boro's recent poor form with four defeats in their last five, but there is usually a bit of entertainment in there.
They have scored in their last four matches and that's where I think we are heading with this game.
The Blades are understandably favourites but they have been a bit harder to call since Christmas, and I think they'll be given a good run for their money. I'm expecting a close game with the two sides separated by a goal.
Burnley v Hull - BTTS/No
There have been only 20 goals in 15 matches at Turf Moor this season, it doesn't get much bleaker than that - especially for a team competing near the top of the league.
It's fair enough to praise Scott Parker for how well he has tightened things up for Burnley, but his side have offered next to nothing against a number of lower-table sides.
I actually think Hull are quite a decent side now and they had a good January window, but you have to go back to the FA Cup third round tie against Reading for the last time BTTS came in in a Burnley match - six matches ago.
The last time Burnley conceded at home? December 21.
Sunderland v Luton - Sunderland to win
Sunderland's form has dipped a little of late and they are quickly losing ground in the race for the top two, and it currently looks like they'll have to settle for a play-off spot.
They haven't been able to string together consecutive wins since the start of January and a leaky defence has been the big issue with six goals conceded in their last three.
They have goals in them which is why I can see them beating Luton, who themselves are really in a rut and have lost seven of their last nine.
West Brom v Blackburn - West Brom/Draw
Given the respective positions in the league of these two sides, you wouldn't be surprised to see this game finish in a draw.
But the uncertainty around the future of John Eustace leaves a huge question mark over Rovers between now and the end of the season, and how it affects the players.
He looks set to leave a sixth-placed team - albeit one that has lost five in six matches in all competitions - and that gives the advantage to West Brom, who also have a very fine recent home record.
