Ireland v England Match Preview
It's only the first weekend of this year's Six Nations, but I already look at this game as potentially one of the ties of the tournament.
Ireland go into it as pre-tournament favourites along with France, and given they have won it the last two years - including a Grand Slam in 2023 - they will be pretty confident they can make it a hat-trick of titles.
But standing in their way in the first week is an England side who it is probably quite easy to overlook, but really they might not be too far away from turning their fortunes round.
Not only did they show some resolve to edge past Ireland and deny them a Grand Slam last season, but they have been very, very close to beating Australia and New Zealand this season and if they can learn to see out matches, they could be a real force to be reckoned with.
Maro Itoje has been named as the new captain as England look to correct their bad habit of falling away late in games with a lack of leadership cited as a potential reason, and you feel like if that happens then they are a real contender for the title because of the talent they have at their disposal.
Ireland have named 21-year-old Sam Prendergast at 10 - presumably he will get a run there throughout the tournament - and are without Lions head coach Andy Farrell this season, so for the first time in a few years, they have some obvious chinks in the armour.
It's no surprise that Ireland are priced up as favourites with the bookies considering form, so I'm looking at 5/2 for an England win with bet365 as a really tempting price.
Yes they have lost their last four matches, but they undoubtedly have the talent to do the job.
For my second tip I'm going with James Lowe to score his 17th international try in his 37th appearance for Ireland, along with Luke Cowan-Dickie who has been in fine try-scoring form this season and touched down twice against Japan in November.
Now given the chance to start, he will be a big attacking threat for England so odds of 13/1 for that tryscorer double with Unibet looks a decent outside bet.
