Former Leicester City player Simon Grayson has shared his thoughts on who he believes will be relegated from the Premier League this season, with his former side the current favourite to go down.
Leicester City have been priced at 4/9 to be relegated from the Premier League this coming season, after being promoted in first place in the Championship in 2023/24. The Foxes dominated the Championship in 2023/24, earning 97 points to clinch the league title and a swift return to the Premier League. However, they are the current favourite to be relegated in 2024/25.
Speaking exclusively to Freebets.com Grayson, who plied his trade with the Midlands outfit between 1992 and 1997, said: “I think it will depend on the summer, and what points deductions come. there are rumours a few other clubs might get points deducted, and there are strong rumours Leicester certainly might get some so that might be why they are favourites.
“It will be an interesting summer to see the points tally teams start on the first day of the season and that will be a better way of holding onto your money!
“The gulf between the three teams getting promoted and the rest of the Premier League has been huge, as you’ve seen this year. The gap won’t close too much, but it will help the teams getting promoted if others have points deducted. It will be a case of watch this space, don’t waste your money quite yet.”
