PGA Tour Golf Betting Tips & Betting Offers: WM Phoenix Open

It’s going to be an epic sporting weekend, and the WM Phoenix Open is just the tip of the iceberg, as Charles Perrin provides his latest golf betting tips.
Coinciding with the Super Bowl that will be contested between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs, the golf will set up the party atmosphere.
Rowdy but equally entertaining, the fun certainly spills over into the stands at TPC Scottsdale in Arizona.
Best known for the fabled par-three 16th-hole, which is barmy with crazed celebrations and plastic beer cups thrown onto the green, the WM Phoenix Open is one of my favourite PGA Tour tournaments in the calendar.
Last weekend, Rory McIlroy marked his first PGA Tour event in 2025 with a win, and the Ulsterman looked in fine fettle as he clinched his 27th career title on the circuit.
But what should you look for this week? I’ve chewed over the fat and supplied a couple of golf betting tips to mull over.
But what should you expect? I’ve plunged into the betting markets and plucked out a couple of golf betting tips for your perusal, plus the top golf betting offers from the best golf betting sites.

WM Phoenix Open Preview
Liftoff for Scottie Scheffler
The list of past champions at TPC Scottsdale is highly venerated; Arnie Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Phil Mickelson, and Vijay Singh are just a few to have hoisted this title.
Scottie Scheffler can also add his name to the decorated roll of honour, and he’s a two-time champion, prevailing in 2022 and 2023.
After a month or so nursing a hand injury, Scheffler steadily went about his business at Pebble Beach, claiming a T9 finish.
McIlroy’s exploits put the American in the shade, but Scheffler carded a final round of 67, and it was a productive week nevertheless.
A premium is placed on ball striking at the WM Phoenix Open, perhaps more so than any other tournament.
When he defended his title in 2023, Scheffler was third in GIR (Greens In Regulation) and first for Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green, and playing the par fours well could be the key to success.
Scheffler has bagged around £5 million in prize money in four Phoenix Open starts which augurs well, and it could be liftoff for him this week.
To open my golf betting tips, I’m going with Scheffler to nab his first win of 2025. Despite the array of different victors this season, Scheffler is shouting out to me despite being the short-priced favourite at 11/4 with Paddy Power.
Sepp Straka to be in the mix heading into the weekend
If there is one player on the Tour that has lit things up this term, then it is Sepp Straka.
A victory at the American Express and two top-15 finishes from four appearances show he’s a man in form.
Currently, 16th in the world rankings, Straka is faring well in the SG: Total and SG: Tee-to-green metrics, which as mentioned before, could be invaluable this week.
I don’t see him knocking Scheffler off his stride, but the Austrian could contend come the weekend.
To conclude my golf betting tips, it may be worth jumping on the 35/1 price available at bet365 for Straka to be the Round 2 leader.
