Sunderland v Leeds Preview
A look at the odds for the game on Friday night and despite Sunderland being at home, football betting sites have made Leeds favourites to win this, which is a little surprising.
Sunderland begin the weekend at the top of the Championship table, winning six of their opening eight games for 18 points.
Behind them by three points and in 5th position are Leeds, with four wins and three draws so far. While they're in 5th, the big positive for fans has to be that I don't think we've seen anything more than a glimpse of Leeds' best football, there's plenty more to come from them.
Sunderland won during midweek at home, a 2-0 success and a pretty comfortable night over Derby County, and they're back home here.
For Leeds, the midweek gave them a trip to Carrow Road, coming away with a 1-1 draw against Norwich. This was a solid result, and I thought they played pretty well in the game overall.
Games at the start of October can't really be called big ones, but I get the feeling that this is a pretty big one.
Sunderland win and their claims to be one of the best in this league will continue on, while if Leeds can go grab a big win, they'll be joint top of the division without really hitting their stride.
It promises to be a really good game on Friday night.
