Euro 2024 Group F Odds and Betting Tips

Euro 2024 Group F Tip

Portugal should have no issues getting out of Group F. Czech Republic and Turkey will be tricky opponents but shouldn’t have enough to seriously compete, so it will be a tough call as to who joins them in the knockouts.

Roberto Martinez’s side though should be aiming for the latter stages. They have the quality to go all the way, but does Martinez have the tactical nous to beat the better sides? We think the semi-finals might be as good as it gets for them.

Euro 2024 Group F Team Profiles

Czech Republic

Having been drawn in one of the weaker qualifying groups, Czech Republic squeezed through with an unimpressive record, but still managed to finish ahead of an experienced Poland side.

They have been regulars in the Euros, having reached the quarter-finals in two of the last three editions as well as the semi-finals back in 2004, but they have failed to reach the World Cup since 2006 which suggests this may not be their strongest batch of players.

Tomas Soucek will lead the side and is an experienced figure in the middle of the park, but the man they will be looking towards to carry their hopes will be in-form Patrik Schick who has been in such sparkling form for Bayer Leverkusen this season.

Portugal

The key issue surrounding Portugal at this year’s tournament will be how they deal with Cristiano Ronaldo, who top-scored in qualifying with 10 but as we saw at the last World Cup, proved to be more of a hindrance to his side in big games than anything else.

It looks as though Roberto Martinez will bow to the pressure of keeping his captain in the starting XI despite him playing in the Saudi Pro League for the past year, but his defensive contributions will surely be called into question at the top level.

Elsewhere Portugal are oozing with star quality. The likes of Rafael Leao, Diogo Jota, Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva, Ruben Dias and Joao Cancelo - to name just a few - mean they are a side to be reckoned with, but the Ronaldo question will linger throughout.

Turkey

Turkey had a good qualifying campaign, finishing ahead of an experienced Croatia side with a 1-0 win in Osijek the standout result.

There is a lack of tournament experience head into Germany this summer. They have qualified for the past two European Championships - though they were disappointing three years ago after being tipped as outsiders - but have made just one World Cup appearance since 1954, which came in 2002 when they finished third.

Their playing squad is built around Hakan Calhanoglu in midfield but the concern is the lack of firepower they have in attack, with no player scoring more than two goals in qualifying - Cenk Tosun and Kerem Akturoglu.

Georgia

Georgia have qualified for their first-ever major tournament, set to become the 42nd different national team to feature at the European Championships, including defunct teams.

Willy Sagnol’s side qualified via the play-offs in dramatic fashion, now looking to showcase themselves on the big stage, and here is everything you need to know about Georgia at Euro 2024.

The one name who stands out in Sagnol’s squad and has the potential to do some real damage in this tournament is Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskheila, who has made such an impact over the last couple of years around Europe and still only 23, could soon be linked to a major-money move.
