(Paroli) Reverse Martingale Roulette Strategy

This roulette strategy is a positive progression system which plays out as the opposite of the popular Martingale strategy which is a negative progression system. Here you instead increase the level of your betting after a win rather than after a loss. It can give you the chance of winning pretty big without having to bet too high. This is another system that uses the even chance bets on the table with red or black, even or odds and number blocks 1-18 and 19-36.

Especially for players new to roulette this particular strategy is far less risky than than the basic Martingale system but like with all strategies winnings are not guaranteed.

How to use the Paroli System

Once you have decided the level of bet you are going to use on each spin of the wheel you will stick with that same level of bet if you lose. However when you win you will keep the bet plus its winnings on the table for the next spin. If you continue to win you will keep leaving the bet and winnings on the table.

It is a good idea to have in mind a quitting point. You may feel you are on a winning streak and want to have 'one more spin' but eventually you will hit a loss. The winnings you have accumulated will be gone and you will be down by the amount of your original bet. Although that may not be a great loss it does mean you have missed a chance to walk away with a good profit. Therefore if you have a quitting point in mind make sure you stick to it.

As an example of this if you were to place a single chip on one of the outside bets and it won 5 times following the progression detailed above the amount of chips won would be

1 + 2 + 4 + 8 + 16 = 31.

If you decided ‘not’ to quit at this point and walk away with your 16 chips profit the next bet would be the original 16 + 16 winnings = 32 chips. If you then lose you can see you will have lost your 31 chips you have previously won plus the one original first chip meaning you are down 1 chip overall.

So with this system losing a few spins may not hurt too much because your original bet can be relatively small and if you do happen to win, most of the time it should cover your previous losses.

Does the Paroli System Work?

A question you may want to ask yourself is when is a good time to quit. What should the quitting point be? This can help decide if this system is going to work for you. Maybe the mathematics of the system can help you decide.

Looking at a single spin there is an 18/37 (48.6%) chance of a win on the outside bets. However for each additional spin the chance of a win decreases i.e 18/37 x 18/37 = 23.6% chance of a win. At 3 spins of the wheel this becomes 11.5% and by 4 spins it is down to 5.6% of a chance to win.

You can clearly see that the longer you leave your bet and winnings on the table the less of a chance of a win and a higher risk of losing your winnings so far.

In conclusion the Paroli system means you can expect lots of little losses along the way but statistics indicate that in the long run they would balance out. You do have to still bear in mind the house advantage of the green zero. Although we have mentioned percentage calculations above this does not mean that a real game will play out the same way. Every spin of the wheel is independent of the previous spin.

In simple terms especially for a new roulette player this system is easier to manager and not as stressful as say the normal Martingale strategy. However bear in mind that this system won't make you huge amounts of profit.
