Will trainer Paul Nicholls win the race for a record sixth time?

The Kauto Star Novices’ Chase is a Grade 1 race run at Kempton over three miles with eighteen fences jumped.

Previously called the Feltham Novices’ Chase, the race was renamed in 2012 to honour the five-time King George VI Chase and dual Cheltenham Gold Cup winner, Kauto Star.

Winners of the Kauto Star Novices’ Chase typically head to the Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in March, although Coneygree did win the race in 2014 before winning the Cheltenham Gold Cup three months later.

Jockey Lizzie Kelly made history in the Kauto Star Novices’ Chase when riding Tea For Two to victory in 2015 - becoming the first-ever female jockey to win a Grade 1 race in the UK.
