Delhi Capitals v Rajasthan Royals Betting Tips
It is worth, at this stage, recapping the play-off rules. The top four qualify, with first and second playing each other for the right to advance directly to the final. Third and fourth then meet, with the winner then playing the loser of that first match in an effective semi-final.
So, while Rajasthan are already assured a place in the top four having won eight of 10 games (16 points), they need to maintain form over the last four group fixtures. They were beaten last time out by Sunrisers in a 200 apiece thriller.
Delhi, meanwhile, have reached the point of no return. They have played 11 and sit outside the top four - two points away at time of writing. The Capitals are likely to have to win their last three to have a chance. They were also beaten in their last fixture by Kolkata.
You will likely know my thoughts by now on Rajasthan. They are my champions elect. Therefore, I expect them to win this fixture. I won’t be taking their 3/4 outright price, though, instead looking for some value elsewhere.
Huge totals can continue
There has been a theme to this IPL, and it’s been the whopping totals on show.
Look at this venue as an example. There have been three games there in this campaign with only one total below 220 in six innings and a high of 266-7.
Betway have Rajasthan to win this and opener Yashasvi Jaiswal to hit a six on offer at 5/4. I’d be taking that. Jaiswal has hit 12 in 10 games and is in good form, with scores of 104 not out and 67 in his last three games.
Similarly, the same firm are offering 23/10 on a Royals win, Jaiswal to score 25 runs plus and Riyan Parag to hit one six. Parag has hit 25 in 10 innings amidst a haul of 409 runs.
Jake Fraser-McGurk has a point to prove having been left out of Australia’s T20 World Cup squad. The dynamic Delhi Capitals opener, aged 22, has enjoyed a fine first IPL with three fifties in six innings.
Will he show the selectors what they’re missing? Quite possibly.
bet365 have him at 10/3 to be his side’s top run-scorer in the match.
I can see why Parag - Rajasthan’s leading tournament run-scorer - is rated at 9/2 to be his side’s top-scorer in this match. Batting at number four, he comes in behind international trio Jaiswal, Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson.
But the way he bats, he can certainly catch up, and I do think that price with Ladbrokes is worth considering given his form.
Royals star duo can impact with the ball
This hasn’t been a tournament for the bowlers. Look at Rajasthan, for example. They are top of the pile, yet their leading wicket-taker is Yuzvendra Chahal with only 13 wickets. Trent Boult has only struck 10 times as well.
But they are classy operators, and I think bet365′s boosted 9/2 on both men to take two wickets in the match is very much worth having a crack at.
