Scotland boss provides injury update on Liverpool’s Andy Robertson

Liverpool have been left sweating over the fitness of left-back Andy Robertson ahead of their next outing.

The Reds are set to play host to Brighton this weekend and could reclaim top spot in the Premier League with a win. Back Liverpool to beat Brighton at 4/11 with bet365.

Andy Robertson injury update

Ahead of the game, Andy Robertson has suffered an injury while on international duty with Scotland.

The 30-year-old started for Scotland for the second straight friendly against Northern Ireland in Glasgow on Tuesday night, but appeared to suffer an ankle injury after a heavy challenge from Sunderland’s Trai Hume.

Robertson was clearly in some pain and covered his shirt with his face before limping off, suggesting it could be a serious issue.

However, when speaking post-match, Scotland boss Steve Clarke gave little further detail on the problem:

“Well, obviously he’s come off,” Steve Clarke said on Robertson. “He’s got an injury. We’ll assess and he will go back to his club. They’ll assess him and and hopefully it’s not not too long.”

Should Robertson indeed miss the Brighton meeting, Konstantinos Tsimikas is expected to deputies in his absence.
