Rory McIlroy Free Bets, Betting Offers and Latest Odds
The importance of 2022 can’t be understated for Rory McIlroy. Regardless of which tournament the 32-year-old competes in, he usually garners a lot of attention.
With his last Major arriving eight years ago, the Ulsterman is long overdue a triumph in that department, so slipping into the coveted Green Jacket at Augusta, and walking away with The Masters still remains his burning ambition.
There has been many a near miss in the past, and The Masters is the only Major to elude McIlroy, as he seeks to complete the Career Slam.
Over the past few years, McIlroy has been put in the shade by the exploits of Collin Morikawa, Dustin Johnson, and Brooks Koepka, but can he stand up, and deliver when it matters most?
Latest Rory McIlroy Betting Update – January 2022
This year has to be the year where McIlroy ends his long, and arguably somewhat surprising Major drought. 2014 was an annus mirabilis for McIlroy, who is a 20-time winner on the PGA Tour. There have been some big wins, including claiming the Tour Championship and FedEx Cup in 2019. And let’s not forget McIlroy previously scaled the heights to be the world No.1!
Recently, McIlroy admitted the world of golf has moved on very quickly, and he conceded that he hadn’t heard of the household names in the game when he won his last Major.
He said: “When I last won back in 2014, I’d never heard of [Open champion] Collin Morikawa, I’d never heard of [world number one] Jon Rahm.
“A lot of these guys coming through are playing unbelievably good golf.
“I don’t just have to beat five guys – there’s 120, 140 guys every week that you’re trying to beat, and they’re phenomenally good golfers.”
When you look at how McIlroy is being priced up for the Majors in 2022, it makes for interesting reading. Bet365 have priced him up at a tasty looking 14/1 to win the Masters, despite his tales of woes and angst in Georgia.
Meanwhile, a cursory glance at Paddy Power’s specials show McIlroy is also a rather short looking 7/2 to win at least one Major, so there appears to be some value there.

What can we expect from Rory McIlroy in 2022?
Well, most golf fans would love to see McIlroy be presented with the Green Jacket at Augusta! The media have been clamouring for it for ages, but for some reason or another, it just hasn’t happened.
McIlroy started the year with a T12 at the HSBC Abu Dhabi Championship, and the key for him doing well this season, is consistency. He needs to be able to string together four impeccable rounds of golf if he’s going to put himself into contention at the Majors.
At the moment, he seems to struggle for the first couple of rounds, and he leaves it too late to mount a challenge. If he can sort out his putting, then he’s got a Major in him this year.
