The two winning teams from Group F in the first round of fixtures, Turkey and Portugal meet in Dortmund on Saturday looking to book their places in the last 16 at Euro 2024.
Portugal left it very late to beat Czech Republic, coming from behind with two goals in the last 20 minutes and the last of which came deep into stoppage time, while Turkey thrilled neutrals with an entertaining win over Georgia in their opener.

Turkey v Portugal Match Preview
Before the start of the tournament, all the talk around this game would have been around Portugal and how one of the favourites to go all the way would manage their way through the group stages with their star players shining.
Even before their game against Czech Republic, I had tipped them to be one of the top-scoring teams through the groups and continue their qualifying form with plenty of attacking football and attractive play.
What we saw against the Czechs however was a fairly slow, uninspired display and they couldn’t argue with going behind just after the hour mark, but Roberto Martinez showed the strength of his squad by turning the game around which culminated in Chico Conceicao scoring the winner in the 92nd minute.
And in Turkey, we could have a side that is finally about to deliver on their common moniker of ‘dark horses’ heading into a major tournament.
Having entered into Euro 2020 with that billing, they failed miserably with three defeats out of three with just one goal scored and prior to this tournament, many people were deriding that tag being attached to Vincenzo Montella’s side again.
However after the 3-1 win over Georgia, people could be forgiven for keeping an eye out for the performances and results over the next week or so and in particular the performance of Arda Guler, who struck a stunning long-range effort in the win to put his name up in lights - not that he needed it after a big-money move to Real Madrid last year.
Turkey will be a dangerous opponent for Portugal and Martinez will know his side needs to shape up better if they are to come out on the right side of this game, and with both sides heading into the game on three points a place in the knockouts awaits.
Given all that is at stake and with the games remaining, I am going to back a draw for this game as both sides look to consolidate their positions in their groups heading into the final round of fixtures.
We have already seen a number of draws in the second round of matches and that is no fluke. A draw would probably suit both sides and put them in a very strong position to progress as the top two next week, so we could see a relatively cagey game. You can get a draw at 10/3 with BetMGM.
My second tip for this game, is going to be for Cristiano Ronaldo to score a header at 11/1 with bet365. Now I’m not a massive fan of Ronaldo (whisper it quietly), at least in these latter stages of his career and I think he almost does more harm than good in big matches - we saw how Portugal’s performances improved when he made way at the World Cup - but the side is built around him.
It was pretty obvious in the win over Czech Republic that when the likes of Bernardo Silva or Bruno Fernandes broke through, their first instinct was to cross the ball early into the box.
It so happened that Ronaldo couldn’t keep up with play and wasn’t in a position to attack the ball, but it looked like a clear tactic to me to provide service to him and in particular use his aerial ability. I think it might click a bit better this time round.
