Dortmund vs PSG Champions League Betting Stats

The Champions League returns to our screens in midweek on Tuesday evening as Bayern Munich host Real Madrid in the first of two semi-final legs at 8 pm BST.

The second semi-final of the week will see Borussia Dortmund and PSG battle it out at Signal Iduna Park on Wednesday, once again kicking off at 8 pm BST.

Despite being the home side, Dortmund go into the fixture as slight underdogs with odds of 9/5, while PSG can be backed at 29/20 to pick up a first-leg win.

Borussia Dortmund vs Real Madrid

Dortmund head into Wednesday’s game having topped Group F with 11 points, finishing three points clear of 2nd-place PSG.

The German outfit, who reached the final in 2013 and won the competition in 1997, then had a fairly easy start to their knockout phase, seeing off Dutch outfit PSV in the last-16 and Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals. Before the semi-final stage kicks off, though, BVB are very much underdogs in the betting for who will win the Champions League this season.

As mentioned above, PSG did not have a great start to their European campaign, securing just eight points to finish 2nd in their group. They have since beaten Spanish duo Real Sociedad and FC Barcelona in the last-16 and quarter-finals to make it into the last-four stage.

Unlike Dortmund, PSG have never won the Champions League, reaching the final for the first time in 2020 before losing to Bayern Munich. Despite this, the Parisian outfit are second favourites in the betting to lift the trophy on June 1.

Borussia Dortmund vs PSG betting stats

Here are some key Borussia Dortmund and PSG stats to keep in mind as you prepare to make your selections ahead of the game:

  • Dortmund are unbeaten in their last 10 Champions League home games (six wins, four draws), their longest-ever such run in the competition.
  • Marcel Sabitzer leads the way for Champions League assists in 2023/24 with five, one more than a group of players on four that features former Dortmund midfielders Jude Bellingham and Ilkay Gundogan.
  • This is Dortmund’s fourth Champions League semi-final and their first since reaching the all-Bundesliga final against Bayern in 2012/13. There is a chance of a repeat of that final, should BVB beat PSG and Bayern get past Real Madrid.
  • This will be PSG’s fourth appearance in the Champions League semi-finals, and they have lost all four games in their two previous two-legged ties at this stage (against Milan in 1994-95 and Manchester City in 2020-21),
  • Dortmund have a poor overall record against PSG, only winning one of their last six matches against them in all competitions (three draws, two losses).

Dortmund vs PSG Top Tip

  • Kylian Mbappe has eight Champions League goals this season, his joint-best return in a single campaign (alongside 2020-21). He is just two away from reaching 50 Champions League goals and has scored a brace in each of his last two away games in the competition.
