Champions League Qualifiers Acca

After the first leg of several European clashes took place last week, it is time to see how things unfold in the second.

One Step Closer

Tuesday promises to offer another spectacular evening of continental clashes, so pack your passport and join me as we look at four of the very best.

Work To Do

The first of our four clashes takes us to Glasgow and with Rangers having suffered a 2-0 defeat to Union Saint Gilloise last week, their hopes of making a return to the Champions League group stage now hangs in the balance.

A qualification balance that may just tilt towards Rangers’ favour and although they were rather lacklustre in Belgium just a few days ago, they do always seem to have an Ibrox ace up their sleeve.

An ace that manager Giovanni Van Bronckhorst will need to unveil by the time Tuesday evening comes to an end and for those who believe that another glorious European night is just around the corner, there are some rather tempting odds on offer.

Especially for those who also believe that extra time or even penalties may be required and if you want to join in me in backing Rangers to move one step closer to the promised land of the Champions League, you can get odds of 11/4 for them to qualify in midweek.

All To Play For

After a rather entertaining first leg encounter, PSV and Monaco are now set to do it all over again and after a 1-1 draw in Monte Carlo, something will have to give when the two teams square off in Eindhoven.

Of course, the away goals rule has long since disappeared and therefore, Tuesday’s PSV opener through Joey Veerman does not hold as much weight as it once did. While were it not for a late Axel Disasi leveller, it would be Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s men with a first leg advantage.

Now though, the former Manchester United forward will look to complete the task in hand and although both sides are more than capable of breaching the opposition’s defence, they can just as easily be breached themselves.

Which is why the both teams to score market has grabbed my interest before Tuesday night and for those who also think there will be at least a goal each at the Philips Stadion, you can add this outcome at odds of 8/13.

Star Shining Bright

After a suffering 5-0 defeat in Serbia last weekend, Pyunik Yerevan’s hopes of reaching the Champions League qualifiers has all but ended and now the Armenian outfit will be playing for nothing more than pride.

Pride that they will hope to earn against Red Star Belgrade and although the 1991 European Cup winners do not possess the raw talent of a generation ago, they are still something of a familiar name on the European stage.

A name that will certainly be in the next round of this season’s Champions League qualifiers and although they do have every right to take things easy on Tuesday, their performance from last week suggests that this will not be the case.

Which is why I have plumped for more misery as far as Pyunik Yerevan are concerned. Misery that comes in the shape of another Red Star success and one that is currently priced at odds of 4/11 – something that also looks rather nice on my accumulator slip.

No Nunez, No Problem

Although Benfica may have lost Darwin Nunez to Liverpool, there has seemingly been no shortage when it comes to goals – or at least on the European stage anyway and after putting four past Danish outfit Midtjylland last week, they will look to conclude any Champions League formalities.

Formalities that come with a trip to Denmark on Tuesday and with the Portuguese giants taking a three-goal lead to Scandinavia, they will feel that the hard work in this tie has already been carried out.

However, that is not to say that Roger Schmidt’s men can completely take the foot off the pedal either and the German will demand that his group put in another professional showing at the MCH Arena.

While for those professional or even amateur punters, backing Benfica on Tuesday is seemingly offering the right balance between risk and reward at present and at odds of 3/4 for an away win, this is the final pick for my accumulator.

While if you put all four combinations together, bet365 are prepared to offer you 13.45/1 in return.
