QPR will be back on home soil on Tuesday evening when they welcome Blackpool to Loftus Road for their Championship clash. (8pm KO)
The Hoops will be in good spirits as were forced to demonstrate their battling qualities last weekend. They recovered from going 2-0 down before rescuing a point in the most dramatic of circumstances at the Stadium of Light.
Goalkeeper Seny Dieng channelled his inner Alisson as he rose highest in the penalty area to plant home a superb header from an inch-perfect Ilias Chair cross deep in injury time.
Blackpool, meanwhile, will be hoping for a change in fortunes as they had endured a tough start with just a meagre three points picked up from their opening three games, and they are languishing in 17th spot in the table.
When you factor in that the Tangerines were bundled out of the EFL Cup by League Two outfit Barrow last week, Michael Appleton is under no illusion about the size of the task he faces this term.
But ahead of QPR v Blackpool, we have picked out a couple of tips for you to chew over.
QPR on the comeback trail again
After floundering in their opening game, QPR appears to have got things back on track. Although he is only a few months into his new role, Michael Beale has a clear vision of how he wants to set up his side.
Against the Black Cats, it seemed like a lack of firepower would be their shortcoming, and Beale has already identified the need to bring in reinforcements to strengthen his attack before the transfer window closes.
But against Sunderland, QPR were plucky and that will ultimately stand them in good stead for what is likely to be a campaign full of ups and downs.
Blackpool, in the meantime, will have been reeling from the manner of their 1-0 defeat to Swansea, especially as they missed a penalty after Andy Fisher’s effort was thwarted by Jerry Yates.
Blackpool may well ignore the script and take the lead, but expect QPR to come fighting back. If you like the main match markets, then you can get an intriguing price of 9/1 for QPR with Paddy Power to rally from behind before prevailing which could be tempting to follow up on.
Tyler Roberts to deliver from the bench
After a few honest words at half-time, Beale made a few changes in the second half and they seemed to have the desired effect. In particular, Tyler Roberts — who is on loan from Leeds — made an impact, and he carried the threat to Sunderland.
Roberts struck his first competitive goal for QPR in the EFL Cup defeat against Charlton last week, and he could well get on target against Blackpool.
If you are looking for something juicy, then Coral is dishing up a price of 18/1 for Roberts to score at least two goals which may sound fanciful, but it shouldn’t be ruled out.
