That Winning Feeling

Everton may currently be on the right side of the relegation zone but that could all change by the time the upcoming Easter weekend concludes.

Sticky Toffee Situation

What a difference a few days can make. After failing to win any of their last three league outings before Wednesday’s visit of Brentford, there was perhaps the slightest of questions regarding Manchester United’s ability to finish in the top four.

Thankfully for Erik ten Hag and his players, they would have the answer soon after and with Marcus Rashford stepping up to the plate once more, it would mean the Red Devils would find themselves back in the Champions League paying positions at Tottenham’s expense.

While Everton have also recently profited at Tottenham’s expense and after Michael Keane’s injury-time rocket managed to secure a share of the points on Monday, it means that Sean Dyche’s men continue to stay outside of the bottom three.

Then again, they do so by the narrowest of margins and it is only goal difference which is keeping the Toffees afloat at present. Four teams are currently on 27 points between 15th and 18th, the Merseyside men are one of them.

Which means if goal difference is going to be the key difference maker on the final day, the last thing Everton will want to do is lose any of their last nine league outings heavily. Lose if you must but lose by a single goal if you can.

Of course, manager Dyche knows that his team cannot survive by simply losing each week by a single goal. Additional points are going to have to be found from somewhere and the question is whether that somewhere can start at Old Trafford.

The likelihood is perhaps not but at the same time, there is no cause for concern just yet. Fulham are the next team to arrive at Goodison Park and with the way performed at Bournemouth last weekend, you get the feeling the deckchairs are already out in West London.

Therefore, if three points or even a single one for that matter have not been identified in the red half of Manchester, they will surely be identified for the blue half of Liverpool next weekend, and this will only play into United’s hands further.

Especially as Tottenham and Brighton face each other later this same Saturday and with at least one team dropping points in North London, it will only further reinforce United’s hopes of finishing in the top four at the end of the season.

With that in mind, our latest bet builder is now up for grabs, and it looks like this:

  • Marcus Rashford to score
  • Under 3 goals
  • Over 3 cards

Three selections for our bet builder

For my latest bet builder offering, I have placed the focus on Marcus Rashford. He returned to the scoresheet at the expense of Brentford and with him now back in the goal groove, I have him down to score another against the Toffees.

With Sean Dyche leading his Everton charges into battle, I cannot see an abundance of total goals and that is why under three has also been added to the slip and with there being five cards at Old Trafford on Wednesday, I have opted to go for over three. Add this together and it is priced at 10/1.
