Willie Mullins

Won the race with Hedgehunter in 2005 but has failed to add to that victory, despite going close on several occasions, in particular with narrow runner-up Pleasant Company in 2018. Ran four in the 2019 race, including third home Rathvinden, and looks sure to be well represented again.

Grand National contenders:

  • Burrows Saint – 9/1 with 888sport
  • Class Conti – 50/1 with Paddy Power
  • Acapella Bourgeois – 33/1 with 888sport
  • Cabaret Queen – 80/1 with Betfair

Paul Nicholls

Took the 2012 renewal with Neptune Collonges and sure to have one or two runners with a live chance. Was only represented by 66/1 outsider Warriors Tale (pulled up both times) in the last two renewals but had five runners in 2017 (three of which were strongly fancied) and will be keen to post a stronger challenge this year.

Grand National contenders:

  • Yala Enki – 40/1 with BetVictor
  • Give Me A Copper – 50/1 with Betfred

Colin Tizzard

Yet to train a Grand National winner but has a good record with horses over the big fences. His Ultragold won the Topham in both 2017 and 2018. The trainer has made no secret of his desire to add the great race to his impressive CV.

Grand National contenders:

  • Mister Malarkey – 33/1 with Unibet

Nigel Twiston-Davies

Successful with Earth Summit in 1998 and Bindaree four years later, the trainer excels with the staying chaser and his entries are always well fancied.

Has had plenty of runners go close this century and whatever he runs has to be respected.

Grand National contenders:

  • Bristol De Mai – 25/1 with 888sport
  • Ballyoptic – 80/1 with Unibet
