This Arsenal star should stop talking and start playing: Gunners attacker lays into critics when he should be laying on the assists!

Arsenal continue to undergo criticism after taking only three points in three matches, and sitting 16th within the Premier League standings. Mesut Ozil tried to fight back against the critics, insisting the fans must support the squad via social media.

The German international has been one of the key players at the club taking heat for their dismal start. An embarrassing performance against Liverpool led to speculation once again over Arsene Wenger’s future and the strength of the squad. Supporters are losing patience within the manager after the 4-0 thrashing, with many fearing this team may be the worst in years.

Ozil called for more positivity on his Instagram, and has insisted things are not as bad as it seems at the club. The fans believe there is a lack of passion at the Emirates today, but the striker is optimistic things will turn around.

The 28-year-old has also been subject to criticism by Arsenal legends Emmanuel Petit, Martin Keown and Paul Merson. Petit believes Ozil has a “defeatist attitude” while Keown said he’s “going through the motions.”

The winger joined the club four years ago, and hit back at the critics stating the club won six titles since arriving, however, the silverware won are not what the supporters truly fancy. Three FA Cup and Community Shields, respectively, warrant minimal praise after missing out on the Premier League title.

The Gunners must turn things around and return to the glory days, which all begins with the players stepping up on the pitch. Less battling on social media and more fight at the Emirates is where it all begins. Further scrutiny is on the horizon if Arsenal drop points against Bournemouth on Saturday.
