Brighton make Premier League history

Brighton went 1-0 down after three minutes vs Nottingham Forest and saw Lewis Dunk sent off with 17 to play, but were still able to secure the three points thanks to a Joao Pedro brace and an Evan Ferguson effort.

After their win on Saturday, Brighton have become the first side to both score and concede in 17 consecutive top-flight games since Manchester United in 1959/60 (also 17 in a row).

Speaking post-match, Roberto De Zerbi explained his side’s celebration following Saturday’s win: “We celebrated like a final of the Champions League,” he stated.

“The way we won the game with ten players, without the captain Pascal Gross at right-back and he’s not a right-back. Jack Hinshelwood at left-back and he’s not a left back.

“Jakub Moder played 20 minutes plus extra time - and I thought it was 25 minutes extra time! It was too long! That’s why we celebrated in this way.”
