Conte’s Wishlist: Who’ll Be Crossing Over To The Bridge This January?

Chelsea have had a bit of a mixed start to their Premier League season but have done their best to catch up with the likes of Manchester City and United and now lie just a point behind the latter.

Their win over the Red Devils put them back in contention for the Premier League title, while they’ve navigated the Champions League well enough to reach the knockout stages.

Chelsea team betting

The club are still huge outsiders at 22/1 to win the Champions League however. A few key signings this January could change things however.

Antonio Conte is clearly a little unsettled at Stamford Bridge, so it’ll be interesting to see how much he’ll be allowed to spend. If he’s given a big enough kitty however, we could well see these faces in the Chelsea blue shortly…

Mauro Icardi

Rumours are circulating that Chelsea could be about to offer big bucks for Inter’s highly rated captain, Mauro Icardi.

The Argentinian has been in fine form, bagging 11 in 12 for Inter and it’s thought the Blues are ready to table a £100million bid for the striker.

His goals would certainly help claw back the eight point deficit they currently have on City and boost their Premier League odds significantly. Inter had stood firm when it comes to losing players recently however, so it’d be a huge shock if they were to let their talismanic captain leave.

Leon Goretzka

Conte could be battling Arsene Wenger and Jurgen Klopp for the signature of Leon Goretzka, Schalke’s impressive midfielder.

The 22-year-old is having a fine season for the Gelsenkirchen outfit and his contract is up at the end of the season.

A move to England looks incredibly likely and it looks like the Blues are at the front of the queue.

Ross Barkley

Ross Barkley has been criticised heavily over the past year but if he finally bags a move to a bigger club he’ll be more than happy.

Whether the Chelsea fans will be that’s another story. Barkley has been linked with both Spurs and Chelsea and it’s thought that the club are willing to pay big money for him.

Everton are looking to cash out on the midfielder so it’ll be a simple enough deal, especially as Barkley will be desperate to get on the pitch having spent the season so far in exile.
