Cristiano Ronaldo’s son has taken to Instagram to share a brilliant message to Lionel Messi.
Both Ronaldo and Messi are set to do battle over the Ballon d’Or once again this year, after continuing their incredible respective form.
Reports have surfaced that Ronaldo is set to edge out his long-standing rival to the award again this time around though.
It’s believed that the Real Madrid ace will be awarded the honour atop of the iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris.
The Portugal international helped his club rally to a La Liga and Champions League double, while also netting in the final against Juventus to successfully defend their crown.
Ahead of the latest Ballon d’Or ceremony, Ronaldo Jr posted an online message to his dad’s rival for the award.
The youngster posted a picture of himself shaking hands with the Barcelona superstar with a message also reading: “Thank you my idol, Leo Messi”.
But it’s Ronaldo who will be hoping to lift what would be his fifth Ballon d’Or award this week.
Messi has already got his hands on the illustrious golden ball trophy on five occasions.
But, if football betting news is to be believed, it will be Ronaldo’s turn again to lift the prestigious honour aloft.
