Erling Haaland set yet another Premier League record vs Liverpool

Manchester City faced off with Liverpool in Saturday’s early Premier League kick-off and were forced to settle for a point thanks to Trent Alexander-Arnold’s late equaliser.

City have now dropped down to 2nd after Arsenal beat Brentford but will be looking to reclaim top spot next weekend when they host Tottenham. Back the Sky Blues to pick up the win at 1/3 with bet365.

Erling Haaland’s latest record

Erling Haaland scored the opener for Man City vs Liverpool with what proved to be a record-breaking strike.

Haaland scored his 50th Premier League goal on Saturday in what was just his 48th appearance. It is the fastest any player has reached the milestone in the competition.

On Haaland’s record, Pep Guardiola said post-match: “Just 50? Incredible! It was really good. The action from Nathan was perfect. Erling, we know the quality he has. “Some moments we have to find him a little bit more.

“The header from Julian’s cross was over, in front of the goal it’s a goal. We said to Jeremy [Doku], go to byline. You invite him to go too much.

“Erling shoots and keeper makes a good save but football is like that. Another day, Rodri in Stamford Bridge. Shoot, deflection, goal. Football is like that. We have to accept it. After this action we concede which was really well done because [Mohamed] Salah is excellent and [Trent] Alexander-Arnold with his finishing. We concede few against this team.”
