Nkunku & Mudryk injury update

Ahead of taking on Tottenham, Mauricio Pochettino provided an injury update on two of his players.

Christopher Nkunku is yet to play a competitive game for Chelsea after being injured in pre-season, whilst Mykhailo Mudryk missed out at the weekend vs Brentford with a muscle problem picked up vs Arsenal.

When asked if Christopher Nkunku or Mykhailo Mudryk be back in time for Monday, the Chelsea boss said in a recent press conference: “Misha [Mudryk] may be back for Monday [against Tottenham] but for Nkunku, no. That is still too soon for him.”

Pochettino also provided an update on sending an injured Ben Chilwell to LA: “It was the plan for the club to change the scenario for him because it is a period he needs to be out. This happens at different clubs, like (when I was) at Tottenham and Southampton.

“When there is a long period of recovery sometimes you want to change the scenery for the player, to provide because to spend 12 hours here every day…it is a fantastic training ground but some times the player needs to change the atmosphere to recover in a good way.”
