Liverpool’s fightback highlighted

Liverpool went 1-0 down on Saturday after 27 minutes thanks to an Erling Haaland goal.

However, Trent Alexander-Arnold scored what could prove to be a valuable equaliser in the 80th minute.

Following the City clash, Liverpool have now avoided defeat in 10 of their last 11 Premier League games in which they have fallen behind (W4 D6).

The Reds have rescued 12 points from losing positions in the top-flight this season, the most of any side.

On his side’s display vs Man City, Jurgen Klopp had this to say: “For us I think we passed a test today,” Klopp said. “I am not sure if it was ‘the’ test if that makes sense? In a business where nobody has time, it is really difficult to ask for it and use it.

“Last year we had a team that played long together, much longer than this team now and we got completely under the wheels here and had no chance in this game. Today we had a chance.

“I am not silly, if you ask who was more likely to win the game it was City, obviously. But we have our moments and we have won games with fewer chances against City from counter-attacks and if we would have used them better that would have been really interesting.”
