Real Madrid La Liga Odds: Cut to 1/250 after Barcelona Win

Real Madrid and FC Barcelona clashed at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday in the final El Classico of the 2023/24 campaign.

Los Blancos were favourites heading into the game and when all was said and done, secured a 3-2 win to see the odds on them winning La Liga slashed to 1/250.

Andreas Christensen fired FC Barcelona in front after just six minutes on Sunday as Xavi’s side looked to make a late push to defend their La Liga crown. However, Vinicius Junior put Los Blancos back on level terms 12 minutes later.

Barcelona retook the lead in the 69th minute but Madrid responded quickly once more, with Lucas Vazquez making it 2-2 in the 73rd minute. Real Madrid’s MVP of the season, Jude Bellingham, then scored a 91st-minute winner to send his side 11 points clear atop of La Liga with six games left to play this term.

Bellingham now has 21 goals and eight assists for the Spanish giants in all competitions this term and is 2/1 to end 2023/24 as the La Liga top goalscorer.

The later win over Barcelona rounded out what was a superb week for Real Madrid, who beat Manchester City in the quarter-final of the Champions League on Wednesday to book their place in the semi-final.

“I’m very proud, because they were two very demanding games,” Carlo Ancelotti remarked, in reference to the Barcelona match and Champions League quarter-final second leg against Manchester City.

“We handled them very well and we are very happy. Now we have to prepare for the last part of the season, but we are well positioned, with a lot of desire and enthusiasm and a fantastic atmosphere at the Bernabeu. I think all together we can achieve something positive this season.”

Real Madrid are now all but certain to secure another league title this year, while a record 15th Champions League is also on the cards. Real face FC Bayern Munich in the semi-final of the competition, with the first leg to take place in Germany on April 30 before a return leg in the Spanish capital on May 8. Should Madrid see off Bayern Munich, they will face one of PSG or Borussia Dortmund in the competition’s showpiece on June 1. Back Real Madrid to complete a La Liga and Champions League double at 7/5.
