Unai Emery reveals the quality which makes his Aston Villa team special ahead of European outing

Aston Villa return to European action on Thursday with a home tie vs Polish side, Legia Warszawa.

Villa are 2nd in Group E after four games but are only behind Legia Warszawa via head-to-head records, meaning a win this week would move Villa into top spot and qualify them for the knockout rounds. Back the English side to pick up the win at 2/7 with bet365.

Why Aston Villa are ‘so special’

Villa head into Thursday’s game on a fine run of form, which most recently saw them beat Tottenham to move into the Premier League top-four.

With Brighton struggling for clean sheets this term, Aston Villa look set to be the league’s darkhorse this year, with much of the credit given to Unai Emery for the fantastic job he is doing.

Asked what he has told his players after their strong start to the campaign, Emery said: “Enjoy the position, enjoy the position. Of course, they are aware of how we are but we will continue being demanding, being as well focused each match.

“Of course, in 38 matches they’re are still a lot of things to happen. We have to be happy and enjoy, but we have to be as well demanding to be thinking. Of course, we need to be resting but then thinking about Thursday in Europe, Sunday against Bournemouth.

“We are going to analyse this match, how much we can continue improving tactically, individually, and how we will do our work every day in Bodymoor.”

On what makes his team so special, Emery added: “The commitment. When we need defensively to be together, the commitment when we have to be as well demanding in the mentality to win. We struggle together, enjoy together and try to be always in good connection with our supporters.”
