Shakhtar Donetsk boss Paulo Fonseca shocked journalists by turning up to his post-Manchester City Champions League press conference wearing a Zorro mask.
The Ukrainians managed to become the side to beat Pep Guardiola’s side, running out 2-1 winners to secure a place in the knockout stages.
Not many expected Shakhtar to get through when the draw was made. They were pitted against City and Napoli, as well as Feyenoord, with the former pair expected to head through with ease.
This is the moment Shakhtar Donetsk coach Paulo Fonseca fulfilled a promise to hold a press conference wearing a Zorro mask if his team reached the Champions League last 16. Fonseca, who was linked with the Everton job before Sam Allardyce took the reigns at Goodison Park, appeared to be even less confident than most. He had agreed to don the mask if Shakhtar made it through.
Having beaten both favourites for progression at home, Shakhtar will not fear anyone they face in the next round. They will be anxiously waiting to see who is next when the draw is made on Monday.
