17/2 Big Weekend Boxing Acca - Saturday 3rd September

We’re back this weekend with a juicy 17/2 boxing treble

We’re casting our net in Liverpool and Mexico this weekend in hope of landing a big 17/2+ acca across three of the best fights this weekend.

And what better than placing our faith in the home favourites and former/current world champions in Liam Smith, Natasha Jonas and Juan Francisco Estrada.

Natasha Jonas to beat Patricia Berghult by Decision or Technical Decision - 8/15

WBO super-welter champion Natasha Jonas will take on unbeaten WBC titlist Patricia Berghult this weekend in a Liverpool homecoming.

It will be Jonas’ first bout in Liverpool in almost three years and she makes her return as a world champion after stopping Chris Namus in spectacular style earlier this year.

Jonas is 11-2-1 as a pro and has bounced back well from a controversial draw and loss to Terri Harper and Katie Taylor in 2020 and 2021, respectively.

Berghult may be unbeaten, but the Swede hasn’t really been tested in her 15 pro fights.

She’s making a big step up here in taking on Jonas and with just three stoppages on her record, the hardy Liverpudlian won’t be concerned of the power coming back in the other direction.

Still, Jonas has just 20 minutes to record a stoppage so we are backing a points win as she canters through some fairly lopsided rounds.

Liam Smith to beat Hassan Mwakinyo in Rounds 7-9 - 11/4

Liam Smith is continuing to prove a real problem in the super-welterweight division.

He’s one of the biggest stars in the BOXXER stable and will be edging towards a world title shot if he can get through Hassan Mwakinyo.

His opponent is best known for a 2018 stoppage win of Sam Eggington in the UK, but other than a loss in Russia earlier in his career, he’s got no more experience fighting outside of Africa.

Liam Smith is an aggressive, front-foot fighter and should be able to chop down the Tanzanian fighter who has two losses on his record.

Smith has four stoppage wins in his last five wins, with impressive wins over Anthony Fowler and Jessie Vargas the stand-out wins.

He’ll be looking to make a statement on Sky Sports this weekend and Rounds 7-9 look about right.

Juan Francisco Estrada to beat Argi Cortes by KO, TKO or Disqualification - 4/6

This feels no more than a keep-busy fight for Estrada.

“El Gallo” is the WBC king at super-flyweight and is treading water until DAZN can get a trilogy fight against the legendary Roman Gonzalez over the line.

Cortes has won eleven on the spin, but the fact that he will be diving into his first 12-rounder in his 28th fight speaks volumes of his relative lack of experience in deep waters.

Estrada has recorded three stoppages in his last five wins and over 36 minutes should be able to overwhelm Cortes with ease.

Cortes is yet to see a ninth round in a pro ring, so Estrada down the stretch looks likely.
