We are gearing up for a barnstorming opening to the new Premier League season this weekend.

Fulham v Liverpool Total Over 3.5 goals
We kick off things with Liverpool’s trip to west London to face newly promoted Fulham. Jurgen Klopp’s charges are unbeaten in their past four matches against Fulham at Craven Cottage (W3, D1), and they will be eager to send a serious message to title rivals Manchester City.
In total, Liverpool have only been kept at bay in one of their past nine visits to Fulham, and it is hard to see how Fulham will keep the Reds at arm’s length this weekend. This could be a comfortable afternoon for the Merseysiders.
Darwin Nunez — should he start — will be targeting a dream Premier League debut, and Mohamed Salah will be eager to open his account for the new term. After all, Salah was the joint top scorer last season along with Son Heung-Min, so he will want to hit the ground running.
Leeds v Wolves Total Over 2.5 goals
After scrapping to safety last term, Leeds will have pressed the reset button and they will be raring to go again. While they suffered second-season syndrome, Jesse Marsch will be hoping his side produced the exciting brand of football witnessed under Marcelo Bielsa, but perhaps to be a bit tighter at the back.
Last term, Leeds plucked out a dramatic 3-2 win to arrest a run of seven games without victory against Wolves.
Three of the last four meetings have been decided by a solitary goal, and Wolves will give it a right good go at Elland Road.
While Leeds have been goal-shy at times against Wolves, this could well be a compelling contest and one that Wolves could nick.
Tottenham v Southampton Total Over 2.5 goals
Tottenham have been busy splashing the cash during the summer window, recruiting six new players. A strong start is imperative, especially if they want to stay in the top four picture.
Southampton, meanwhile, have been rather luckless on the opening day of new league seasons in years gone by. They have not won any of their previous opening games (D4, L4), and while they will have fond memories of their last visit to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, they could be in for a tough afternoon.
Son Heung-Min and Harry Kane will look to pick things up from where they left off and they will ask serious questions of the Saints rearguard.
Everton v Chelsea Total Over 2.5 goals
Chelsea will have set lofty ambitions, even though they have serious work to do to bridge the gap to Manchester City and Liverpool.
Everton, meanwhile, will be looking to fill the void left behind by Richarlison. One stat that augurs well for the Toffees, is that Chelsea have lost each of their past four away meetings with Everton at Goodison Park.
Frank Lampard may well feel that Everton have Chelsea’s number and there could be a few goals in this one to satisfy the neutral.
