With the Premier League not kicking off until next weekend we have a somewhat quiet Sunday afternoon of football action.
But there’s enough out there for an anytime scorer treble and this one tips the scales at 14/1 with William Hill.
- Ross Stewart (SUNDERLAND V Coventry)
- Jota (CELTIC v Aberdeen)
- Jonah Ayunga (ST MIRREN v Motherwell)
Ross Stewart (SUNDERLAND V Coventry, 12pm)
The Scot helped fire Sunderland to promotion last season with 26 goals and 15 of them came at the Stadium of Light.
Coventry had a decent season last time out, but a run of just one clean sheet in their final 14 Championship away games will give the hosts plenty of belief that they can bag a goal or two in this one.
Jota (CELTIC v Aberdeen, 4.30pm)
The Portuguese winger had an excellent debut season with Celtic, scoring 13 goals in all competitions last time out.
And he particularly enjoyed coming up against Aberdeen, scoring in two wins against the Dons during the 2021/22 campaign.
Jonah Ayunga (ST MIRREN v Motherwell, 3pm)
The summer signing from Morecambe has adapted well to life north of the border, firing doubles in his last couple of outings in the Scottish League Cup.
And despite a fifth-place finish last season, only one Scottish Premiership side conceded more goals than Motherwell, so we fancy Ayunga to continue his hot streak in front of goal on Sunday.
