Jurgen Klopp has announced that he will leave Liverpool at the end of the season after nine years with the club.
The German manager has been a fan favourite since arriving at Anfield in 2015 and led the to Premier League and Champions League glory restoring the club to its former glory.
He announced in an emotional video directed to the club’s fans that he was “running out of energy” to do the job and it has already been rumoured that he could be heading into premature retirement, with Xabi Alonso the earlier favourite to replace him.
His decision to leave comes with Liverpool five points clear at the top of the Premier League, into the Champions League knockout round, into the final and favourite for the Carabao Cup and in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
