Manchester City vs Copenhagen betting tips

After Manchester City claimed an unassailable lead at Parken three weeks ago, this tie at the Etihad is a foregone conclusion.

The reigning champions of Europe proved to be far too strong for København in the Danish capital, with Kevin De Bruyne breaking the deadlock after less than 10 minutes.

However, not long after, the hosts were gifted an equaliser, with Ederson’s slack pass going straight to Magnus Mattsson who lashed home, sending Parken into a frenzy.

Nevertheless, Bernardo Silva restored Man City’s advantage in first half injury time, before Phil Foden slotted home that all-important third right at the death.

Pep Guardiola’s team are still on course to repeat last season’s treble, having got through to the FA Cup quarter-finals last mid-week.

Here, the Sky Blues will cruise through to the last eight of the Champions League too.

København have done extremely well just to get this far, doing so for only the second time in their history.

Nevertheless, the Lions have never won in England in seven attempts, losing each of the last three, including being smashed 5-0 at the Etihad just last season, so a remontada seems unlikely to say the least.

Bayern Munich vs Lazio betting tips

The most interesting second leg of this week’s fixtures, without doubt, comes from Bavaria, where six-times European champions Bayern Munich have work to do.

It was not a memorable Valentine’s Day for Thomas Tuchel, given that his team were beaten 1-0 at Stadio Olimpico, with Dayot Upamecano conceding a penalty, sent off in doing so, that Ciro Immobile converted.

This came in the middle of a three-game losing streak for Bayern, also smashed 3-0 by Bayer Leverkusen, before a shock 3-2 defeat at Bochum, leaving them eight points adrift the Bundesliga leaders.

Die Roten have since stabilised, most-notably beating RB Leipzig 2-1, but the Champions League now appears to be their most-likely shot at silverware, which is not a good place to beat.

When losing the first leg away from home, Bayern have failed to advance through any of their last four ties, dumped out by Barcelona (2015), Atlético (2016), Villarreal (2022) and Manchester City last season.

Before that, they had produced round of 16 comebacks against both Basel and Porto, victorious 7-0 and 6-1 in the second legs of those match-ups, but another emphatic turnaround doesn’t seem too likely.

Lazio meantime have only ever reached the Champions League quarter-finals once in their entire history, this in 2000, but believe now they can complete the upset, having established a slender lead in the Eternal City.

Maurizio Sarri’s side are languishing in mid-table of Serie A, struggling to find any consistency, so Bayern Munich should be too strong for I Biancocelesti at Allianz Arena, but you just never know right now.

Real Sociedad vs Paris Saint-Germain betting tips

Following the first leg at Parc des Princes, this tie appears to be over, although you can never say that for certain when Paris Saint-Germain are the side protecting a lead.

On Valentine’s night, in the city of love, PSG were loving life, claiming a 2-0 first leg lead, with Kylian Mbappé bundling home a corner, before Bradley Barcola slotted a second through Álex Remiro’s legs.

In truth, it wasn’t a thriller, but Luis Enrique will be more than happy for this return fixture to be equally as underwhelming, uneventful and low-scoring.

Les Rouges-et-Bleus have crashed out in the round of 16 in five of the last seven seasons, including both of the las two, with three of their six two-legged defeats since 2017 coming at the hands of Spanish opposition.

Given that PSG are miles clear at the top of Ligue 1, as always, this competition is their holy grail, so to say they’re under pressure to leave San Sebastián unscathed would be an understatement.

Real Sociedad meantime do not appear well-equipped to pull off a remontada, given that they’ve scored just four goals in their last eight matches, failing to net at all in five of them.

Imanol Alguacil’s side have not netted more than once in a home game since the 2-1 victory over nine-man Sevilla in November, so la Real’s hopes of a first-ever quarter-final appearance in this competition are slim.

However, and we’ve touched on this already, if there’s any club that can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, it’s PSG, so those inside Anoeta will believe until the very end.

Real Madrid vs RB Leipzig betting tips

RB Leipzig were left to rue missed opportunities in the first leg, meaning they have a monumental mountain to climb ahead of this return fixture.

Benjamin Šeško on his own could’ve had a hat-trick, seeing an early opener controversially ruled out for offside, before, mere seconds after half time, Brahim Díaz’s stupendous strike snatched victory for the visitors.

In their illustrious European Cup history, Real Madrid have won the first leg away from home on 29 occasions, getting through in 28 of them, their sole exit from this competition in this scenario coming against Ajax in 2019.

Having left Red Bull Arena 1-0 winners, Carlo Ancelotti’s team are in pole position to maintain that record.

Los Blancos have already picked up the Supercopa de España earlier this year, and are six points clear at the top of La Liga, so belief is believing that la decimoquinta could be heading their way on 1 June.

As for RB Leipzig, they were beaten 2-0 at the Bernabéu during last season’s group stages, with Marco Rose’s side very unlikely to pull off an astonishing comeback as they return to the Spanish capital.
