The first four Champions League quarter-finalists will be confirmed this week, with a quartet of round of 16 second legs coming you way on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The most interesting second leg of this week’s fixtures, without doubt, comes from Bavaria, where six-times European champions Bayern Munich have work to do.

Before that, they had produced round of 16 comebacks against both Basel and Porto, victorious 7-0 and 6-1 in the second legs of those match-ups, but another emphatic turnaround doesn’t seem too likely.
Lazio meantime have only ever reached the Champions League quarter-finals once in their entire history, this in 2000, but believe now they can complete the upset, having established a slender lead in the Eternal City.
Maurizio Sarri’s side are languishing in mid-table of Serie A, struggling to find any consistency, so Bayern Munich should be too strong for I Biancocelesti at Allianz Arena, but you just never know right now.

Following the first leg at Parc des Princes, this tie appears to be over, although you can never say that for certain when Paris Saint-Germain are the side protecting a lead.

Given that PSG are miles clear at the top of Ligue 1, as always, this competition is their holy grail, so to say they’re under pressure to leave San Sebastián unscathed would be an understatement.
Real Sociedad meantime do not appear well-equipped to pull off a remontada, given that they’ve scored just four goals in their last eight matches, failing to net at all in five of them.
Imanol Alguacil’s side have not netted more than once in a home game since the 2-1 victory over nine-man Sevilla in November, so la Real’s hopes of a first-ever quarter-final appearance in this competition are slim.
However, and we’ve touched on this already, if there’s any club that can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, it’s PSG, so those inside Anoeta will believe until the very end.
