Group F World Cup 2022 Team Profiles
It’s now time to cast an eye over the four representatives in Group F, and see what each country brings to the party.
Belgium
Blessed with a wealth of attacking talent, Belgium is among the usual suspects to do well at the World Cup. All eyes will be on Kevin De Bruyne, who enjoyed an exceptional season with Manchester City. While Eden Hazard struggled to nail down a starting spot at Real Madrid last term, he’s the sort of player that could come alive on the big stage.
Although they came up short four years ago when they finished third, Belgium should be pushing to get to a maiden final.
Croatia
The midfield is packed with talent and Luka Modric is the standout player. At 36, this could be Modric’s last World Cup, but the diminutive Real Madrid star can transform any game, and he has an eye for goal.
Meanwhile, Mateo Kovacic is capable of marshalling things well in the middle of the park and he will act as a good shield for the defence. In 2018, they reached the Final, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them go deep once again.
Morocco
There are a few recognisable names who are likely to make the final cut for the Morocco World Cup squad, including defender Achraf Hakimi and striker Sofiane Boufal.
Although they will look to challenge Croatia for the runners-up spot, an early elimination could be feasible.
Canada
Although there is plenty of pace in this Canada squad, Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies and Lille striker Jonathan David will be instrumental.
However, their lack of World Cup experience could count against them, and Canada could crash out in the group stages.
