The unbeaten Marseille produced a winning display when they beat AEK Athens 3-1 last month to cement top spot in Group B. Roma are not only unbeaten, but have a perfect record in the Europa League so far this season, having only conceded once across three games too.

Aston Villa produced a dominant Conference League win over AZ Alkmaar away from home earlier in the competition, and a win would see them remaining in the top spots of a tight Group B. Aberdeen need to produce an away win against PAOK tonight to keep their hopes alive.

AEK Athens v Marseille prediction

Marseille to win - 9/5

Group B is finely balanced after three games with all four teams still in the mix to qualify.

While Brighton and Ajax, who are third and fourth, have plenty of work to do, a win for leaders Marseille in Athens over AEK would go a long way to securing them a top-two spot.

The French side are down in a somewhat disappointing ninth place in Ligue 1 but they have already beaten Thursday’s opponents 3-1 at home so they will be confident of getting the job done on the road in Greece.

Slavia Prague v Roma prediction

Roma to win - 8/5

Roma are one of just three teams to have won their opening three games in this year’s Europa League, with Jose Mourinho’s men seeing off Sheriff 2-1, Servette 4-0 and Thursday’s opponents, Slavia, 2-0.

A trip to Prague should not hold too many fears for the Italians then and they can book their place in the knockout stage with another win, available at 8/5.

Slavia are second with two wins and a defeat so far so they are also in a good position to qualify and, while they will likely make it tricky for Roma, Mourinho’s men can prevail.

Aston Villa v AZ Alkmaar prediction

Aston Villa to win and both teams to score - 2/1

Villa have been so good at home this season - winning seven out of eight Villa Park assignments all told - that another victory for Unai Emery’s side in front of their own fans on Thursday seems highly likely.

After slipping to a 2-0 loss away at Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Sunday, they will want to bounce back as soon as possible and they get the chance against AZ - a side they beat impressively 4-1 away in the reverse fixture in the group.

It could be a similar scenario with both teams tipped to score again. Villa have only failed to score twice in their last 12 games - and have netted in all three Conference games so far - while AZ have found the back of the net in all of their competitive games - 17 and counting - so far this term.

PAOK v Aberdeen prediction

PAOK to win - 3/10

Aberdeen were 2-0 up and seemingly heading for a vital home win over PAOK on matchday three only to suffer a late calamity as they let the Greek side back in to snatch a 3-2 win.

That means the Dons are up against it to qualify for the next phase as they sit in third place with just a point on the board so far.

PAOK, in contrast, are top with three wins from three and they will be confident of making it four against Barry Robson’s side to seal their place in the next stage.

Aberdeen have been in good form of late, winning four of their last five domestic matches. Furthermore, including in qualifiers, both teams have scored in all five of Aberdeen’s European matches this season and the Dons have racked up 10 goals in their last five away games.
