Crystal Palace vs Newcastle Premier League Betting Stats

Newcastle United travel to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace in a midweek Premier League clash at 8 pm BST on Wednesday evening.

With just five game weeks left of the 2023/24 Premier League campaign, the two sides have very different goals heading into the meeting in South London.

Newcastle are among the favourites to clinch a top-six finish this term and with it, Europa League football, while Crystal Palace can confirm their Premier League status for another season with a win over the Magpies.

Crystal Palace vs Newcastle

Crystal Palace go into Wednesday’s game with their season largely over. A dismal run of form midway through the campaign saw the Eagles drop into the relegation scrap but the dismissal of Roy Hodgson and appoint of Oliver Glasner on February 19 ended those fears fairly quickly.

The Eagles have picked up two wins and a draw in their last five, including a 5-2 thrashing of West Ham in their last outing. This has moved them up to 14th in the table and 11 points clear of 18th-place Luton Town with a game in hand. So, while it is still mathematically possible for Palace to go down, it would take something of a miracle for that to happen, hence why they are currently 4500/1 to be relegated.

Newcastle, meanwhile, still have it all to play for as we head into the final few weeks of the Premier League campaign. The Magpies’ mid-season blip swiftly ended their hopes of securing Champions League football for a second successive season, but their recent form has kept them firmly in the hunt for a Europa League place.

The North East outfit are unbeaten in their last four league ties, smashing fellow Europe-chasers Tottenham 4-0 in their previous outing.
