Delhi Capitals vs Mumbai Indians: Latest IPL betting tips

The first of Saturday’s double headers sees two teams in the bottom half but with a different feel about them go head-to-head as Delhi Capitals host Mumbai Indians in the IPL.

Both sides have struggled for consistency so far in this year’s tournament, with Hardik Pandya’s return to Mumbai not exactly going to plan and the Capitals suffering from a succession of injuries, but it is arguably the latter who go into the game in a better place to put together a winning run.

Ever since Jake Fraser-McGurk came into the Capitals side, they have appeared a much-better balanced side with three wins in their last four games while Mumbai Indians have lost two of their last three.

The team at Freebets.com will providing daily tips and predictions ahead of every IPL game.

Delhi Capitals vs Mumbai Indians Tips and Predictions

Jake Fraser-McGurk + Ishan Kishan each to hit a 4 and a 6

One thing is for certain in this game, you won’t want to take your eyes off the powerplay whoever is batting.

The Mumbai Indians duo of Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan are well-known for their class as well as their intent. Kishan in particular over the years has been an explosive presence at the top of the order and has even translated that onto the international scene, but it hasn’t been smooth sailing of late.

He missed a few months of cricket for personal reasons and his last two outings have seen single figure scores, but five successive double figured scores with a high of 69, all while striking at 168.42 mark him out as a dangerous player.

He is a boundary hitter so will be trying to put the Capitals attack to the sword, and Fraser-McGurk has made such an impression in recent games that David Warner has been reduced to drinks waiter.

He won’t have as much fun trying to hit Jasprit Bumrah out of the attack, but should be very good value for at least a couple of boundaries given the intent to which he approaches the game.

Rishabh Pant to hit 3+ sixes

Rishabh Pant not only playing, but looking somewhere close to his destructive best has been one of the stories of this season’s IPL given the shocking injuries he suffered in a car accident in 2022.

The 88 - at a strike-rate of over 200 - he hit in the last game against Gujarat Titans was vintage Pant, and made it scores of 41, 16*, 44 and 88* in his last four knocks and featured eight sixes as well as five boundaries.

With 21 sixes in his nine innings so far and 342 runs in total, he is a man bang in form and should thrive in the middle innings overs where MI have struggled to take wickets.

Pant to score 30+, Tilak Verma to score 20+, Mukesh Kumar to take 2+ wickets

We have already been through the form Pant comes into this game with, and he loves to take responsibility and bat deep before exploding at the back end of an innings, so we’re backing him to make more than 30 runs without too much fuss.

In the presence of more experienced and heralded players, Tilak Verma has been holding the Mumbai Indians middle order together somewhat. He is a very consistent scorer with 273 runs in eight knocks, including two fifties and has 16*, 31, 34* and 65 in his last four knocks.

He is a consistent batter and looks good value here, as does Mukesh Kumar who while not always on target and at times expensive, does have 10 wickets to his name for the Capitals in just six matches so far.
