Gujarat Titans vs Delhi Capitals: Latest IPL betting tips and predictions

After Jos Buttler stole the headlines from Sunil Narine in another record-breaking, run-soaked IPL encounter on Tuesday, struggling Delhi Capitals face another crucial tie to get their season back on track.

The Capitals have so far won just two matches, sitting second from bottom in the IPL standings after six matches but go into the game on the back of an impressive six-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants.

Gujarat Titans meanwhile have also been inconsistent with three wins and three defeats so far, but pulling off something of a heist last time out against Rajasthan Royals when they scraped a three-wicket win off the last ball to leave their campaign in the balance.

Gujarat Titans vs Delhi Capitals Tips and Predictions

Delhi Capitals to win

Given the respective form of both sides so far this season, Gujarat Titans appear to be the side with their ducks in a bit more of a row, but don’t rule out Delhi Capitals from being one of the sides to put together a bit of a run of form despite a sticky start.

The bad news for Capitals fans is that David Warner will be missing the game after being struck on the hand in practice - though any major injury was ruled out - but there have been signs lately that their game is coming together and they’re not far off becoming a potent side.

Scoring runs has not been an issue so far - the addition of Jake Fraser-McGurk in the last game could not have gone better - but it has been the bowling attack which has regularly leaked runs, conceding 272 and 234 before restricting LSG to 167 in their last three games.

It is no coincidence that Kuldeep Yadav missed those two high-scoring games, and now he is back he makes the Capitals look a much more rounded side.

The Titans will fancy their chances of picking up the win, hence their status as favourites, but their batting remains a potential weak point if Shubman Gill fails to deliver and we can see an electric performance from the Capitals proving too much.

Kuldeep Yadav to take 2+ wickets

Yadav has played just three games so far in this year’s IPL, missing the hammerings the bowling attack took against KKR and Mumbai Indians, as well as the win over CSK.

In the games he has played, the wrist-spinner has picked up six wickets for 81 runs and has firmly established himself as one of India’s leading spinners and an integral part of the Capitals attack.

With the Gujarat middle order still a little suspect - the likes of Matthew Wade, Abhinav Manohar and Vijay Shankar are far from established - Kuldeep will fancy his chances of picking up another haul and restricting the Titans batting.

Prithvi Shaw top Delhi Capitals runscorer

It has been a welcome return to form for Prithvi Shaw in the IPL, having scored just 106 runs in 2023 and 283 the year before.

He has been entrusted to open the batting again this season alongside David Warner however, and responded with consistent scores without going on to make a match-winning total.

So far this season he has scores of 43, 10, 66 and 32 and in four matches averages 37.75 while maintaining his attacking intent with a strike-rate of 157.29. It feels as though a big score is just around the corner and with Warner absent, he faces less competition for the top runscorer slot and it should be entertaining to watch.
