Liverpool Title Odds: Now 28/1 after Everton loss

Liverpool travelled across the city on Wednesday evening to face off with bitter rivals, Everton at Goodison Park in a Premier League clash.

The Reds were heavy favourites heading into the game as they looked to continue to their title charge.

However, when all was said and done, England international Jarrad Branthwaite and Dominic Calvert-Lewin fired Everton into a 2-0 lead after 58 minutes, with Liverpool unable to find a reply vs Sean Dyche’s side.

Liverpool Premier League Title Odds

After the shock loss to their old rivals, it seems unlikely Jurgen Klopp will be securing a second Premier League title during his final campaign on Merseyside.

The loss to Everton on Wednesday evening has seen Liverpool’s Premier League title odds lengthened to a staggering 28/1 as we head into the final few weeks of the campaign.

Liverpool remain 2nd in the Premier League on 74 points from 34 games, but they are three adrift of league leaders Arsenal with a much worse goal difference, while 3rd-place Manchester City can go five points clear of the Mereysiders if they win their games in hand.

It is not impossible for Liverpool to come out on top in the title race this season, but they will have to win all of their remaining games to stand any chance of doing so.

Liverpool to win the Premier League

2023/24 Premier League winner

Who will win the 2023/24 Premier League title?

Arsenal (77 points)

After spending the majority of the previous campaign top of the Premier League before a rather spectacular collapse in April of 2023, it looks as though Mikel Arteta’s men may finally go all the way this time around.

Despite having a fairly small squad and injury issues plaguing their backline for much of the season, Arsenal have been the most consistent side in the top flight this term.

A recent 2-0 loss to Europe-chasing Aston Villa and another Champions League quarter-final exit at the hands of Bayern Munich should not take away from how impressive the Gunners have been in 2024 so far. Since the start of the calendar year, the north Londoners have picked up 12 Premier League wins and conceded just four goals in said matches. The only points they have dropped this year have come in the aforementioned loss to Villa and in a 0-0 draw with Manchester City.

In turn, Arsenal sit top of the Premier League with 77 points from 34 games. Manchester City will overtake the Gunners if they win their games in hand but based on current form, it is very possible Arteta and co. are lifting the trophy come May.

Manchester City (73 points)

Standing in both Arsenal and Liverpool’s way in the Premier League title race is current favourites, Manchester City.

Draws with their two title challengers in March dampened City’s hopes of securing another league title under Pep Guardiola but dominant wins over Crystal Palace and Luton since then have put the Sky Blues firmly back in the driver’s seat.

Manchester City are currently 3rd in the Premier League on 73 points, but they have played two fewer games than both Arsenal and Liverpool, meaning they will return to the division’s summit if they win those matches.
