Time to Start Thinking About January? Who Manchester United Should Sign

It’s been a solid start to the season for Manchester United but despite this they now sit seven points adrift of their ‘noisy neighbours’ over at the Etihad.

Rumours have been circulating for weeks now about a potential move to Paris for Jose Mourinho, and what’s come out of that is we can expect plenty of spending in January to keep the Special One happy.

United have got a lot of work to do if they’re going to catch the Blues and have slipped below City and Tottenham as favourites to win the Premier League at 14/1.

An impressive January in the transfer market will be a huge boost though. Naturally, Ibrahimovic will be like a new signing in himself, but who else could be gracing the Old Trafford turf come 2018?

Mesut Ozil

Bringing Mesut Ozil to Old Trafford would certainly be an interesting move from Mourinho, and quite possibly not overly favoured by United fans but if rumours are to be believed some money may go down on the table for him.

The German is out of contract in the summer so Arsenal may cash in on him this coming window. He’d provide an extra element of creativity to the United team, but it’s perhaps someone that can finish those chances off that the Reds need to look at most.

Antoine Griezmann

It’s been a will he won’t he for the best part of a year now and if Mourinho did manage to capture Griezmann the Manchester United odds for the Champions League and Premier League would lift significantly.

One of United’s main problems so far this season is that Romelu Lukaku has very little competition. The return of Zlatan and potential arrival of Griezmann would give the Red Devil’s three World Class options, all capable of different things.

The Frenchman has also been linked with Barcelona, so there could be a bit of a dogfight for him, but United have the spending power to finally bag their man.

Danny Rose

Danny Rose is hardly a favourite at Spurs at the moment and won’t need asking twice to jump ship to Old Trafford should an offer come in January.

Left back is a notable problem for United and ultimately they will need to replace Ashley Young at some point soon. Rose could be the perfect fit.

Mourinho is a fan of the Englishman and this is a move that has looked like it’s been on the table for a while now.

The 27-year-old is apparently on the radar of PSG, Real Madrid and Juventus too, so the right offer would have to be on the table. You get the feeling that a Danny Rose to Manchester United move is on the horizon though.
