We’ve got two racing tips for Sunday from resident tipster Charlie McCann.
Pepe Le Moko EW (4 Places) 3.40 Chepstow
A good competitive card at Chepstow but I was struggling to find betting opportunities although I do feel the step up in trip to an extended 2m 3f will suit PEPE LE MOKO in the finale and he gets the each way vote.
The selection ran well – stayed on into fourth – in his sole Bumper and has run to the same level in three starts over timber. The Jane Williams yard are in red hot form, writing this before Saturday’s racing, and this inmate is a half-brother to four winners all at or around this distance.

He has opened up short enough at 5/1 and I was hoping for a bit bigger given it is such a competitive race with a number of dangers including Jamie Snowden’s Present Value – blinkered for the first time – who has dropped to a mark 2lbs lower than when winning on his first start for the yard last season.
That said the each way recommendation is the least exposed in the field and did not have the race run to suit – ran at a crawl – at Lingfield last time when backed into favouritism.
- Recommendation: Pepe Le Moko EW at 5/1 with William Hill 4 places
Grangeclare West (NAP) 2.20 Naas
The Grade 1 action comes from Naas and Willie Mullins – who has saddled the winner of the 2m 4f Lawlor’s Of Naas Novice Hurdle seven times previously – has two of the fancied runners in Champ Kiely, who needs to settle better than was the case last time, and GRANGECLARE WEST and it is the latter who gets the vote as he bids to preserve his unbeaten record.
The selection won his sole Point - cost connections £430,000 subsequently - and Bumper before making an impressive winning hurdles debut at Navan back in November. The form hasn’t worked out particularly well, and he wasn’t particularly strong in the market, but he looked always in control and was not extended to win by 13L. It is possible that the 3m Albert Bartlett will be his Festival target and I expect Paul Townend to make it a decent test at this intermediate trip.

Gordon Elliot’s Irish Point has, arguably, the best form in the book having finished runner up in the Grade 1 2m Royal Bond behind Marine Nationale but he has stamina to prove although he is out of a chase winner at 2m 5f.
The unbeaten Inothewayyurthinkin steps up in trip and is considered the main danger having won both starts at the minimum trip including when beating Imagine – reopposes today – at Gowran last time.
- Recommendation: Grangeclare West at 11/8 with BetVictor
